RAMESWARAM: The Sri Lankan Navy has apprehended 8 Indian fishermen from close to right here, for alleged maritime boundary violation, officers mentioned on Tuesday.
The fishermen hailed from Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu.
They had been picked up by the Lankan Navy for allegedly fishing in that nation’s waters between Mullaitheevu and Neduntheevu late on Monday, Fisheries officers mentioned.

The BJP’s state unit took up the matter with Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
BJP state president Ok Annamalai wrote to Jaishankar, searching for his help for the early repatriation of the detained fishermen.
